Pete Davidson reunites with director Jason Orley for rock biopic I Slept With Joey Ramone.

Pete Davidson will star and produce in an upcoming rock biopic I Slept With Joey Ramone, chronicling the life of the king of punk. He reunites with director Jason Orely who he collaborated with on Big Time Adolescence.

Netflix and STXfilms have partnered to develop and produce the project, which will be made with the cooperation and support of the Estate of Joey Ramone, based on the Mickey Leigh memoir of the same name. Leigh is to serve  as an Executive Producer on the project, and being Ramone’s brother, he’s likely to be an invaluable resource. All 4 founding members of The Ramones have now passed away.

Adam Fogelsen, Chariman of STXfilms has said “I Slept with Joey Ramone is a great rock anthem that will make an equally great rock biopic, set apart by a universal story of family. Pete is perfect for this role and we’re excited he and Jason will be bringing this icon of rock to life and thrilled to be collaborating once again with our friends at Netflix.”

Little else is known about the project so far, but it seems a likely success for the companies, following in the footsteps of recent rock biopics Bohemian Rhapsody and Rocketman. The big question now is whether or not Davidson will be singing, or using the original tracks?
