Former Doctor Who Peter Capaldi will join the likes of Margot Robbie and Jai Courtney in The Suicide Squad.

On the not-so-quiet, a fascinating cast is coming together for the upcoming The Suicide Squad, the second attempt to make a good Suicide Squad movie, that’s cunningly being differentiated by the use of the word ‘The’ in the title.

What’s particularly intriguing is that James Gunn is writing and directing this one, a project he took on during his temporary expulsion from Disney and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Said expulsion has now been reversed, and as such, Gunn will direct the third in his trilogy of Guardians Of The Galaxy films once The Suicide Squad is wrapped up.

Filming begins on the movie later this month, and we now learn that a former Doctor Who has joined the ensemble.

Peter Capaldi will be taking his place alongside Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney and Joel Kinnaman. Also new to the line-up are Idris Elba, Nathan Fillion, Taika Waititi, David DastMalchian, Flula Borg, Daniela Melchior and Steve Agee.

I’m quite on board with them casting more Doctors too if they’d be so inclined. Give Tom Baker’s agent a call would be my recommendation.

The Suicide Squad is set for release in August 2021.
