The difficulties of getting a consistent look for The Lord Of The Rings and The Hobbit 4K remasters are explored in a new video.

Now available and shipping around the world is the hugely impressive release of both The Lord Of The Rings and The Hobbit trilogies of movies on the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format. We’ve been tinkering with the latter, and whilst not fond of the Hobbit movies, there’s little doubting that these have had exemplary treatment on the format.

Warner Bros and Wingnut Films, Peter Jackson’s production company, have now released a video featuring Jackson, where he talks through the remastering of the six films – in both their cuts – for the new releases. Thought this was pretty interesting too, not least the differences in technology when it came to filming the six movies.
