The work of practical effects titan Phil Tippett is being celebrated in a new documentary.

A brand new documentary is incoming about the work of the legendary Phil Tippett. Tippett’s career has seen him emerge as a legend in the world of stop frame and practical effects. His creature and effects work on the likes of Star Wars, RoboCop, Jurassic Park and Starship Troopers has seen him rewarded with an Oscar, BAFTA and Emmys. And he’s now the subject of a new documentary exploring his work.

Phil Tippett – Mad Dreams And Monsters is directed by Gilles Penso and Alexandre Poncet, who previously put together the documentary Ray Harryhausen – Special Effects Titan. What’s more, the movie is done, and it’s been making its journey around various film festivals, ahead of its disc release in 2020.
