The Office star B J Novak infuses his comic sensibilities into a thriller for his directorial debut: here’s the trailer for Vengeance.
B.J Novak is joining the ranks of The Office alumni who have turned their attentions to film. Steve Carell is arguably the most successful, having appeared in the likes of The 40 Year Old Virgin and Anchorman, while John Krasinski has enjoyed huge success with The Quiet Place franchise.
Vengeance is described as a black comedy which follows the fortunes of Ben Menalowitz, a lowly journalist who heads to West Texas to investigate the death of a former fling. Having to get used to the small town’s conspiracy theories and hostility, he soon discovers something much darker as he begins to uncover the insidious truth behind what really happened.
As well as writing and directing, Novak also takes on the lead role of Ben. Also in the cast are Boyd Holbrook, Dove Cameron, Issa Rae and Ashton Kutcher.
It is set to be released in the US on 29th July. There’s no UK release date yet, but we’ll keep you updated on that. Watch the trailer below:
