Another reboot of the Predator franchise is on the cards, this time with the director of 10 Cloverfield Lane on board.

Following the mess that was 2018’s The Predator, it was though that the screen adventures of the title foes were pretty much over. Not least too when Disney bought Fox, and has since shown little interest in tapping back into the worlds of Die Hard, Alien and the Predator series.

Still, there’s life in this one yet. 20th Century Studios has not only put a fifth Predator film into development, but it’s also found the man to direct it. Dan Trachtenberg, who helmed the excellent 10 Cloverfield Lane, is in talks to take the project on. Patrick Aison has penned the script, and it absolutely won’t be following the path of the more recent sequels.

That said, details of the plot and who’ll be starring in the film – apart from a great big Predator – are being kept under wraps. Fingers crossed this one marks an improvement, and also a sign that Disney is willing to back movies for older viewers again.
