Nandor Fodor And The Talking Mongoose is filming in Leeds, with Simon Pegg and Minnie Driver leading the ensemble.

If you find yourself tiring of reboots, remakes, sequels or any other kind of rehashed projects, here’s a film to get behind. It sports an idea so unique that we feel pretty confident in stating that you won’t have seen it before. Nandor Fodor and the Talking Mongoose is an upcoming British dark comedy, based on true events that follows the tiular Nandor Fodor (Pegg)—the Hungarian-American psychoanalyst, known as the father of parapsychology—on his search to discover the real Talking Mongoose, “Gef.” Driver will play Fodor’s assistant Anne, who journeys with him into uncharted territory.’

As well as boasting the considerable talents of Simon Pegg and Minnie Driver, the film is shooting in the brilliant city of Leeds. It also boasts a talented supporting cast including Tim Downie, Ruth Connell, Paul Kaye, Gary Beadle and Drew Moerlin.

The project has been backed by the fan-owned entertainment company, Legion M and will be directed by Adam Sigal, who has previously helmed Chariot, When the Starlight Ends and Stakeout. Legion M has a history of backing diverse and interesting movie projects such as Colossal, the weirdly brilliant kaiju flick/human drama hybrid and Mandy, the mesmerising Nic Cage festival of violence. We’re fascinated to see where this one leads and will bring you more details as we hear them.
