Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt star in Project Power – and the first trailer for the new Netflix movie has landed.

Now this looks interesting. From directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman comes their new movie, Project Power. The helmers have given us before the hugely underrated Nerve, the acclaimed (and terrifying) Catfish, and sequel Paranormal Activity 4. This time, backed by a Netflix budget, they’ve recruited Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt for a film about a strange new pill that gives each person who takes on a different superpower. The idea being that you don’t know what your power will be until you take one.

Naturally, not all of these superpowers are good.

The film’s story will follow the subsequent rise in crime that follows, and the ensemble for the film also includes Dominique Fishback. Here’s the trailer for the movie…

The film will debut on Netflix from August 14th, and we’ll leave you for now with its official synopsis…

On the streets of New Orleans, word begins to spread about a mysterious new pill that unlocks superpowers unique to each user. The catch: You don’t know what will happen until you take it. While some develop bulletproof skin, invisibility, and super strength, others exhibit a deadlier reaction. But when the pill escalates crime within the city to dangerous levels, a local cop (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) teams with a teenage dealer (Dominique Fishback) and a former soldier fueled by a secret vendetta (Jamie Foxx) to fight power with power and risk taking the pill in order to track down and stop the group responsible for creating it.

More as we hear it.
