Desperate bargains with God and priestly secrets are the order of the day in this planned psychological horror short, which is live on Kickstarter now.

If you’re a fan of Saint Maud or Black Swan, and fancy being a patron of the arts, you could do a lot worse than check out the Kickstarter campaign for Hallowed, a planned psychological horror from filmmaker Olivia Loader. The short film promises to blend the classic unreliable narrator idea with a tale of religion and cerebral horror, and needs your help to get it made.

The synopsis for the film reads as follows:

Father Black is dying and the looming presence of the end weighs heavy in his fragile mind. When a doctor’s phone call confirms there are no other treatment options left, Father Black’s final move is to try and bargain with God. He flees to Church, and pleads in a frantic and desperate display. However, seeing through Father Black’s façade, God targets the real reason the Priest is afraid to die, in turn forcing the Priest to confront his darkest secret in a sobering and harrowing fashion…

The Kickstarter page can be found here, and shows some real thought and insight from the young filmmakers, who are facing a few challenges to get the project of the ground. But you can help them by visiting their page and sharing the details of their campaign, so Hallowed finds its audience and cameras can roll on this promising project.
