Stars of The Lobster, Rachel Weisz and Colin Farrell are to reunite in Love Child written and directed by Todd Solondz.
More news coming out of Cannes Marketplace today, with The Lobster stars Rachel Weisz and Colin Farrell to reunite in Love Child. The film will follow a precocious child who schemes to rid himself of his brutish father so he can have his mother all to himself. Things go awry when a handsome stranger appears.
Love Child will be written and directed by Todd Solondz (Weiner-Dog). He has said that Love Child will be his ‘first movie with a plot’ and is inspired by numerous Hollywood movies.
Weisz and Farrell played ill fated lovers in Yorgos Lanthimos’ The Lobster, winning both critical acclaim for their nuanced performances. Weisz later worked with Lanthimos again on The Favourite, earning her a BAFTA. Both stars have upcoming superhero debuts, with Weisz in Black Widow next month and Farrell appearing as The Penguin in The Batman, due in 2022.
