Production on Pirates is underway in London – and more details are right here.

Production is now officially underway on a new British movie by the name of Pirates. What’s more, it marks the directorial debut of Reggie Yates, who also penned the script to the movie. It follows his successful television work and collection of small films, and now he’s jumping up to a feature.

The film is described as a love letter to London, the city Yates grew up, and the movie is a comedy following three friends on New Year’s Eve in 1999, as they try and land tickets to the hottest party in town.

In the announcement of the movie, Yates said “Not only is this feature film an exciting new direction for me personally but I am thrilled to be able to tell a positive story about London, the city I was born, live in and love. This film will explore the London I knew growing up and we are very lucky to have some extremely talented up and coming actors to tell this 90’s detail heavy story. It will also make you laugh. A lot.”

The movie stars Elliot Edusah, Jordan Peters and Reda Elazouar, and look for a release date at the end of this year at a stretch, or early next. More as we hear it.
