Release date, trailer for Soderbergh’s star-studded No Sudden Move

This starry thriller No Sudden Move looks like it could be special, and now a US release date has been announced.

Steven Soderbergh’s next film looks like it really could be one to keep an eye out for. The veteran director has a deal to make movies for US streaming platform HBO Max at the moment, and that’s exactly where his next film, No Sudden Move, is going, at least in the US.

The crime drama boasts a serious roll call of acting talent, including Don Cheadle, Benicio Del Toro, David Harbour, Ray Liotta, Jon Hamm, Amy Seimetz, Brendan Fraser, Kieran Culkin, Julia Fox, Noah Jupe, Craig Grant, Frankie Shaw and Bill Duke. It ‘takes place in 1954 Detroit and revolves around a group of small-time criminals who are hired to steal a document, only for their plan to go horribly wrong.’

The release date in the US for the film is July 1st, exclusively on HBO Max. Hopefully, that means we’ll get the film here around the same time with, fingers crossed, a cinema release, but only time will tell. Whilst some HBO Max releases such as Melissa McCarthy’s Superintelligence have found their way to these shores via PVoD, other films such as Soderbergh’s own Let Them All Talk, starring Meryl Streep, haven’t yet made an appearance here in the UK.

With a cast this amazing though, and cinemas open once again, we can certainly hope. There’s even a stylish teaser trailer to check out below, although there isn’t much actual footage of the film to enjoy. Rest assured though, we’ll bring you a UK release date as soon as we hear it.
