The much-loved Scottish film Restless Natives gets a feature-packed Blu-ray release – more details on it right here.

The latest in StudioCanal’s excellent Vintage Classics line of Blu-ray releases lands today, and it’s the much-loved 80s Scottish movie Restless Natives.

Directed by Michael Hoffman (Soapdish, One Fine Day, Restoration), the film actually came to life in part off the back of a screenwriting competition. The resultant film may not have made a huge splash at the box office, but it’s certainly had a tail to it (helped by television showings in the 1990s).

If you’ve not had the pleasure of the movie, it’s about a pair of young boys – Ronnie and Will – who decided to rob coachloads of tourists. Shot in Scotland and now arriving on a disc packed with extras, it’s a film well worth checking out if you’ve not had the pleasure.

Furthermore, Michael Hoffman is joining us for a Film Stories podcast special at the end of the week, where we go through his film career. More on that shortly. In the meantime, you can find out more information on the disc and order it here.

And here’s the trailer for the release…
