Vin Diesel confirms that Riddick 4: Furya is still in the works, with a new screenplay due on his desk in the next week.

You’ve got to hand it to Vin Diesel, when he wants the sequels to keep coming, they keep coming. He was the one who pushed hard for xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage, for instance. And the 2013 movie Riddick, the third in the franchise, owes its existence heavily to Diesel’s tenacity, especially after the second film had underperformed at the box office.

Diesel has been keen ever since for a Riddick 4, and as per his latest Instagram update, it looks like he’s getting his way. He’s revealed that the screenplay for the movie is due with him next week.

The project had first been mooted in 2014, when it was revealed that sales of the third film on disc had awakened Universal Pictures’ interest in a fourth. The movie is going to be called Riddick: Furya, and writer/director David Twohy was confirmed to be involved too.

Quite how long things will take once the new draft of the script comes in remains to be seen. Uncertain times and all. But for now, here’s Diesel’s Instagram account where he confirms the news, and sings a bit of a song.
