Rise Of The Footsoldier 5 is set to arrive in 2021, and will be a reboot for the series.

Heading to the top of the DVD charts over the past week has been the latest movie in the Rise Of The Footsoldier series of straight to disc movies. The new film is Rise Of The Footsoldier: Marbella, with Craig Fairbrass leading the cast. And it’s proven a lucrative success already for British independent distributor Signature Entertainment.

Now we hear that plans are afoot for a fifth film in the series, on that’ll serve as a reboot of the franchise. Screen reports that the project – that’s going under the working title of Footsoldier Millennium – is in ‘advanced development’.

Nick Nevern, who helmed The Hooligan Factory, is going to direct the new movie. Andrew Loveday will direct, and there’s expected to be a role for Fairbrass in the film.

The plan with the next movie will be to release the film in cinemas and on digital platforms on the same day. The expected arrival of the new film is late 2021.

More as we hear it.
