Damsel’s new cast additions join the already-announced Millie Bobby Brown and Angela Bassett in the upcoming fantasy flick.

A few more names have been added to Netflix’s planned fantasy film, Damsel.

Whilst Stranger Things and Enola Holmes star Millie Bobby Brown was already announced as the project’s lead alongside Angela Bassett, Robin Wright, Ray Winstone, Shoreh Aghdashloo, Nick Robinson, and Brooke Carter have all now been added to the film’s ensemble.

The project, which is in production at Netflix follows ‘the damsel of the title who is enlisted to marry a prince and agrees to do it, but she later finds out that she’s actually been chosen as a sacrifice to repay an ancient debt. If that wasn’t bad enough, the damsel is thrown in a cave with a fire-breathing dragon and will have to fend for herself if she wants to make it out alive.’

The two key collaborators behind the camera are Oscar nominated director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and screenwriter Dan Mazeau. Both are on the comeback trail of sorts, with Fresnadillo directing a film for the first time since 2011’s Intruders whilst Mazeau’s last screenplay credit was 2012’s Wrath Of The Titans. We’ll bring you more on Damsel as we hear it.
