Having originally been scheduled for April, Rocks is now landing in British cinemas in September – and it’s some movie.

Altitude continues to lead the charge with regards the reopening of UK cinemas, with its fourth new release heading into multiplexes since July. And this one’s really special. Originally due for release in April, Rocks is a superb film, directed by Sarah Gavron and written by Claire Wilson and Theresa Ikoko.

It boasts a breakthrough cast featuring Bukky Bakray, Kosar Ali, Shaneigha-Monik Greyson, Ruby Stokes, Tawheda Begum, Anastasia Dymitrow, Afi Okaidja and D’angelou Osei Kissiedu. And the film itself follows the story of a teenage girl called Rocks, played by Bakray, as she finds herself looking after her little brother when her mum disappears.

Full credit to Altitude for holding on to give this film a cinema release. It’s now going to be arriving in cinemas in the UK and Ireland on September 18th, and you can get a taste of the movie below…

More as we hear it. But do keep an eye out for the film.
