It’s definite: Sylvester Stallone has added 40 minutes to Rocky IV, with a new Rocky V Drago cut landing in November.

As we come towards the end of the year, most of us could use a lift as we head into the Christmas season. Thankfully, Sylvester Stallone is only too aware of this, and he’s kept his promise of an extended version of 1985 delight Rocky IV.

Only the new version of the film isn’t called that. It’s now going to be called Rocky V Drago: The Ultimate Director’s Cut, and Stallone has added some 40 minutes of fresh material into the movie. He had threatened to cut out the robot, but hopefully the man has seen sense on that one.

The new cut of the movie is ready anyway, and if you live in America, you get to see it on the big screen. The film is getting a one night only release in Stateside cinemas on November 11th, with an included Stallone Q&A. And then on the 12th, the film is released on demand. Hopefully, we get the chance to see this stone cold masterpiece on the big screen too, but we’ll keep you posted on UK release plans.
