Ronnie Scott’s documentary waiting for cinemas to reopen

The film Ronnie’s had been planned for a June cinema release – but it’s going to hold on until they reopen, rather than going immediately to on demand.

Here’s news of a film going against the grain somewhat.  The documentary film Ronnie’s tells the story of Ronnie Scott and the decades-long history of his famous jazz club, and the production was planned for a cinema release.

Oliver Murray has directed the film, and the 102-minute feature is bucking the current trend by not going straight to on demand and streaming. Instead, Ronnie’s is a smaller production that’s still being held back in order to debut in cinemas. The plan is to put the film into cinemas later this year, all things being closer to equal of course.

No word yet on just when the film will be released, but we’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
