The farewell concerts of the band Runrig are getting a movie outing.

The final concerts of celtic rock band Runrig took place last summer, on the big open air stage in front of Stirling Castle. The pair of farewell concerts attracted 50,000 fans over two nights, with tickets quickly selling out.

For those who missed out, the gigs were filmed, and they’re being released as Runrig: The Last Dance, that’s coming to disc on August 16th 2019. It’ll be available as – deep breath – a Blu-ray, or double DVD set, or double CD set, or limited edition triple CD digipak, or a limited collector’s edition (featuring two DVDs, three CDs and a coffee table book). There’s a digital release too.

This all follows a big screen concert premiere that took place at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.

The disc preorder page at Amazon can be found here.

And here’s a trailer for the film…
