Kristen Stewart is to follow up her Oscar-nominated role in Spencer by teaming with director Rose Glass for Love Lies Bleeding.
The thoroughly excellent British horror movie Saint Maud – a film that previously graced the front cover of our magazine – was a breakthrough and a half for its debutant director Rose Glass. And now she’s embarking on her next film, Love Lies Bleeding, that’s been set up at American indie A24.
Billed as a romantic thriller, Glass has co-penned the screenplay with Weronika Tofilska. Film 4 has developed the film alongside A24, and the film is said to be “fuelled by ego, desire and the American dream”.
The movie has scored quite the coup too by attracting Kristen Stewart to its cast. She’s going to take the lead role in the movie, although exact details of the character – as you’d expect – are being kept under wraps for now. With a bit of luck, filming should take place this year, and we’ll be able to get our eyes on Love Lies Bleeding at some point in 2023.
