The horror movie aimed at a younger than usual audience has been successful enough to get a follow-up greenlit.

Following the success of the first film last year, it’s been confirmed that a sequel to the horror film aimed at a slightly younger audience – Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark – is to get a follow-up.

The new film has been given the go ahead by Paramount and Entertainment One (the latter distributed the first movie in the UK). That means writers Dan Hageman and Kevin Hageman have been recruited to write the script once again, with Guillermo del Toro providing the story.

Director Andre Ovredal will also be back to helm the sequel, which is like to take inspiration from the source books of the same name by Alvin Schwartz.

No more details at this stage other than the fact that the project exists and is moving forward. More as we hear it.
