Scream 5 is pressing ahead, and has landed Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett to direct.
If you’ve not yet had the pleasure of last year’s sublime horror Ready Or Not, then may we be the latest to alert you to its excellence? The movie was a modest hit, and is available now on disc. It’s really worth seeking out.
It’s proven something of a calling card for its directors, too. Working under the name Radio Silence, they are Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. And their hugely successful YouTube films, combined with Ready Or Not, have just landed them their highest profile gig.
They’ve been hired to reboot the Scream movie series, it’s been revealed. They’ll be working alongside the writer of the original films, Kevin Williamson, who is on board the project as executive producer. And the new movie will follow the story of a woman heading back to her home town, to try and determine who is behind a series of violent crimes.
No word yet on casting, or just when to expect the new film. Just that a new film is happening, and it has two excellent filmmakers now on board.
