Star Lulu Wilson is returning for a sequel to the film Becky that is set to up the stakes considerably.

For the uninitiated, Becky, released in 2020, was a violent thriller that followed the titular teenager, played by Lulu Wilson, and her father as they work together to deal with a gang of escaped convicts who invade their home. The twist was that Becky was far more resourceful than they anticipated, and set about offing them in increasingly gory scenarios.

The sequel, which as something of a throwback is called Becky 2: The Wrath of Becky, will see Wilson return, this time to fight a group of fascist terrorists as they plan an attack. Continuing their modus operandi of casting comic actors against type (Kevin James played the lead thug in the first film), American Pie star Seann William Scott will play main antagonist Darryl.

Writing and directing this time around are Matt Angel and Suzanne Coote. Producer Russ Posternak, who worked on the original film, said that “audiences have been asking for a Becky sequel since the film’s 2020 premiere and we’re proud to work with Quiver again to extend the franchise”

“Our goal was to up the ante from Becky 1 in every way imaginable and with Matt and Suz’s wild script and Seann William Scott’s turn as our terrifying villain opposite Lulu’s Becky, we know we’ll deliver the thrills, gore and heart that audiences loved in the original”, he added.

No release date has yet been set, we’ll update you as we hear more.
