A new documentary feature is heading to cinemas, as Sir Alex Ferguson tells the story of his life, following his brush with mortality.

Heading into cinemas at the end of the month is a new documentary feature that’s already won its fair share of acclaim. Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In is, on the surface, the latest in quite a run of football-centric documentaries. But there’s a little bit more to this one.

It’s a personal documentary about former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, crucially with Ferguson on camera for large parts of it. It was made in the aftermath of his brain haemorrhage, that nearly cost him his memory, and nearly cost him his life. He thus sat down with his son, Jason, and put many of his memories onto film.

Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In is the result of that, and the film – that Jason Ferguson directed – is as much about his early years in Glasgow and his family life as it is about his football. Although it doesn’t skimp on his United time either.

A trailer for the movie has now been released, and you can see that below.

The film will be in cinemas from May 27th and on Amazon Prime Video from May 29th.

Here’s that trailer…
