Jared Leto’s vampiric Spider-Man spin-off movie Morbisu now finds itself scheduled to debut almost two years after its original release date.

Well, you might just have to be a vampire (or at least possess their legendary lifespan,) if you want to see this film hit cinemas. Sony has announced that Morbius, its self-titled vampire anti-hero flick, is being delayed once more, with the film now due to hit cinemas on April 1st. The film’s previous release date was January 28th, but it has been the recipient of a number of missed release dates, stretching back to the summer of 2020.

Sony then, has elected to push back the release of Morbius from January to April, according to The Hollywood Reporter, as film studios continue to deal with the fresh Omicron surge of the Covid-19 pandemic. Interestingly, Sony is also believed to desire a greater amount of space between Spider-Man projects, with No Way Home still riding high in the box office. Whatever the primary thinking may be here, we’ll be waiting a while longer to see Morbius.

We’re looking forward to seeing Leto chew some scenery (and some necks, presumably) alongside a promising cast including Jared Harris and Tyrese Gibson in Morbius. The tortured, brooding vampire certainly feels like a good for the actor, but we’ll have to wait for a while longer to see his take on the character. More news as we have it.
