Add another Spider-Man spin-off to Sony’s slate.
Whilst most of the news surrounding Spider-Man movies of late has centred on Sony and Disney parting ways on sharing the character on the big screen, there are other projects that have been bubbling along.
Venom 2, for instance, is set to film later this year with Andy Serkis in the director’s chair. And now we learn that Sony has added a further spin-off movie, Madame Web, to its slate.
Can’t say I’m instantly familiar with the character, but wiser heads than mine explain that she’s blind and precognitive, having first appeared in comic book form back in 1980.
Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, who penned the recently-wrapped further Spider-Man spin-off movie Morbius, are writing this one as well. There’s no word yet on who’ll be directing, and who’s going to take on the lead role.
More as we hear it.
