Overlord director Julius Avery will helm Samaritan, starring Sylvester Stallone.

Next on the docket for Sylvester Stallone is a thriller by the name of Samaritan. It’s being directed by Julius Avery (Overlord), and it follows the story of a young boy who discovers that a superhero he thought was missing after a big battle some 20 years before is still actually around.

Escape Room writer Bragi F Schut has penned the screenplay for the movie, and production on the movie is set to begin early in 2020. However, there’s been a slight delay to the project. The film had been scheduled to open next November, but to buy the movie just a little more time, it’s been moved to December 11th 2020 in the US.

No word yet on when we get a UK release. MGM is backing the film, though, and we’ll pass on any more news as we get it.
