Ryan Kwanten and J K Simmons have been cast in supernatural-horror Glorious, directed by Rebekah McKendry.

Supernatural-horror Glorious, directed by Rebekah McKendry, is nearing completion, according to Deadline. It’s been announced that the film will star True Blood actor Ryan Kwanten and Oscar winner J.K. Simmons (Whiplash and Being The Ricardos).

In the film, Kwanten plays a man struggling with a bad breakup. In a strange turn of events, he finds himself locked inside a rest stop bathroom with a mysterious man (Simmons) talking to him from the next stall over. As he tries to escape, he realises he is an unwilling participant in a situation bigger than he could have imagined. It’s a strange and intriguing premise – what’s actually going on there is anyone’s guess until the film comes out.

Glorious' script is written by Todd Rigney, Joshua Hull and David Ian McKendry, Rigney has a writing credit on horror film Headless, while Hull most recently worked on horror-comedy Chopping Block. David Ian McKendry wrote the scripts for Rebekah McKendry’s previous features All The Creatures Were Stirring and Psycho Granny.

Rebekah McKendry said of the film ““Glorious speaks to my love of cosmic horror, gore, absurdist humor, philosophy, and the type of transgressive movies that leave you thinking ‘I can’t believe I just saw that.’” It definitely sounds like a must-watch for anyone that loves anything horror-related.
