Supernova, starring Stanley Tucci and Colin Firth, is now coming to cinemas in July.

Yesterday, we reported on Studiocanal’s commitment to ensuring the terrific Another Round got a cinema release and wasn’t sent straight to streaming. Now we get the news that the firm has done the same with the also-acclaimed and also-excellent Supernova.

Originally set for release pre-Christmas, Supernova stars Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci, and it’s the tale of a couple of 20 years taking a holiday in the UK. But overshadowing the trip is the fact that one of them has been diagnosed with young-onset dementia.

The resultant film, from writer and director Harry Macqueen, is funny, moving and brilliant, and the new release date for the film will be Friday 9th July. It’s one heck of a wait for it, but it’s very much worth it.

As we hear more, we’ll let you know. Fingers crossed the release goes to plan this time.
