Stallone hints that Rocky 7 is edging closer, and that it’ll have a political slant.

Whilst you could be forgiven for thinking that the emphasis of the Rocky Balboa narrative has switched to the Creed spin-off series of movies, Sylvester Stallone has other plans.

Last month, he revealed that whilst he has no intention of appearing in the bound-to-happen Creed 3, he did have a leaning towards doing a Rocky 7. And whilst on the promotional trailer for the incoming Rambo: Last Blood, Stallone has revealed more of those plans to Collider.

He told the site that whilst there was no room left for him to explore in the Creed movies, in the case of Rocky 7 he has “a thing”.

He’s teased that it’s a more politically important film, that’s “right on the edge” and “deals also with a foreign country”.

You can go with your own Rocky IV gag right here if you want.

Nonetheless, Stallone has confirmed that the studio is keen for the movie, and you can find the full interview where he talks a little more about the project at Collider, here.

No idea yet on timescales for either Rocky 7 or Creed 3, but we’ll keep you posted on both.
