The A-Team: new rumour suggests fresh film in the offing

The names of Will Smith and Dave Bautista are being linked with a revival of The A-Team.

Back in 2010, 20th Century Fox had high hopes for its big screen take on the 80s TV series, The A-Team. It had recruited a cast featuring Bradley Cooper, Liam Neeson, Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson and Sharlto Copley, with Joe Carnahan directing. But whilst the film did solid business, it didn’t take off in the way Fox had hoped, and any sequel plans were clearly shelved.

Now, the folks at We Got This Covered have dug up news that the now Disney-owned Fox is considering another go at the franchise. Furthermore, both Will Smith and Dave Bautista are said to be in consideration for roles in the new team.

This is all, of course, a very long way away from the project actually happening. If it did go ahead, I can’t help but wonder if this is a Disney+ streaming idea rather than a cinema release. Nonetheless, with no known director or writer thus far attached, we’ve got a long way to go before this could arrive anyway. However, we’ll keep you posted as we hear more.

Obviously if we were any good at this news writing lark, we’d end with a crap gag about a plan coming together or something.

But we’re not, so we won’t.
