1983’s Blue Thunder will be debuting on Blu-ray in the UK this coming April – more details right this way.

In one of our trawls through the list of upcoming disc releases planned for the UK, we happened upon something of a surprise from the back catalogue here. For the 1983 blockbuster – and it wasn’t a cheap film to make – Blue Thunder is getting a Blu-ray outing in the UK this April.

Priced at just £8.99 at the time of this post being written, the film is directed by John Badham (who chatted about it to us in our special podcast episode here), and stars Roy Scheider and a rather useful helicopter.

The disc is being released by Mediumrare, and we’ve no idea as of yet as to any extra features. But it’ll be nice to have this one on physical media and in 1080p too.

More as we hear it. In the meantime, you can preorder the disc and find out what (little) further information is available right here.
