The Crow: City Of Angels – petition launched for original cut

The lost director’s cut of The Crow: City Of Angels is the subject of a new fan petition – more details on it right this way.

Fan petitions to get different cuts of films release are nothing new, but maybe the parameters have changed now that Warner Bros is stumping up some $70m to allow Zack Snyder’s version of Justice League to finally see the light of day. If that proves to be a success, don’t be surprise to see other alternate cuts of movies heading to our screens.

One candidate that’s being put forward is The Crow: City Of Angels. It’s a story we covered here, but basically director Tim Pope had his version of the movie re-edited by Miramax prior to release. Pope has disowned the theatrical version of the film, and it’s said that there’s 30 to 40 minutes of further footage in a vault somewhere that hasn’t been released.

A fan by the name of Callum Shoesmith has thus set up a petition to try and generate interest in the extended cut of The Crow: City Of Angels being released. It currently only has a couple of hundred signatures on it, but if you’d like to add yours, the link is right here.
