In a blow to UK film fans and distributors, The Green Knight and The Duke have reportedly been pulled from UK film schedules.

It looks as though upcoming films The Green Knight and The Duke have been pulled from UK release schedules this afternoon, as nerves grow on box office and cinema reopening viability.

The news comes from social media as numerous reports of the films being pulled are surfacing. News of The Green Knight appears to have come from critic Robbie Collin, however programmers at cinemas such as the Chapter Arts Center in Cardiff have also confirmed the film will no longer be screening there this August.

There’s not been any official word from the distributors yet, nor has it been confirmed if these films are being pulled elsewhere in the world, or just in the UK. Reviews for The Green Knight have already been released and broadly positive, so with a US release date of the 30th July (just over a week away at time of writing), it seems it could just be individual countries affected due to changes in coronavirus data.

Fingers crossed these setbacks are only small, but it moves the Autumn release in to a less secure place than we had all hoped.

More as we hear it.
