John Michael McDonagh will next be tackling Fear Is The Rider, a chase thriller that’s set in Australia: more details here.

Writer/director John Michael McDonagh already has the terrific The Guard and Calvary under his belt. And whilst 2016’s War On Everyone didn’t go down quite as well, he’s now got The Forgiven incoming, starring Jessica Chastain and Ralph Fiennes.

Plus, he’s hard at work on his next project too, a chase thriller by the name of Fear Is The Rider. It’s based on a book by Kenneth Cook, and follows a photojournalist in Australia, coming to terms with what he’s experienced whilst reporting on the Vietnam war. But then he meets up with a woman in a bar, and the pair head out into the Outback together, where the hostility of the weather puts them in danger: just as, well, the fit hits the shan.

Billed as a cross between Duel and Picnic At Hanging Rock, the film stars Abbey Lee and Christopher Abbott, and sales are underway for the film at the upcoming European Film Market.

McDonagh will direct and has also penned the script. As we hear more about this one, we’ll let you know…
