Ryan Reynolds is back to be a hitman one more time in a new trailer for The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, the sequel to his 2017 comedy with Samuel L Jackson.

Originally due for release on the 28th August 2020, we finally have a look at The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, ahead of the new 23rd June 2021 release date (UK).

Leaning fully into the chaos, carnage and comedy of the first film The Hitman’s Bodyguard, the trailer sees Reynolds Michael forced to team back up with Salma Hayek and Samuel L. Jackson, all timed perfectly to an inspired Britney Spears track choice.

The sequel will once again be directed by Patrick Hughes (The Expendables 3) with Tom O’Connor returning to write the screenplay alongside Brandon and Phillip Murphy.

Whilst not critically acclaimed, the original film The Hitman’s Bodyguard was a box office success, taking over $170 million USD against a $30 million budget, so it’s likely the sequel will be another fan favourite on the big screen.
