The Hunger Games prequel adds Rachel Zegler to its cast, and more details on the film can be found right here.

Filming isn’t far away on the resurrection of The Hunger Games cinematic franchise. The director of the last three films in the series, Francis Lawrence, is back behind the camera for prequel story The Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes.

This is the film that’ll tell the story of President Snow’s early years, before he assumed power and made a series of corrupt decisions that broke the code of governance, and undermined the rule of law. Where he introduced a series of laws by which he was unwilling to live by himself, and would throw out distractions to keep people’s eyes away from how he was actually conduct himself.

Tom Blyth has already been cast as the young Snow, the older version of whom was played by Donald Sutherland in the previous movies. Now, West Side Story breakout sensation Rachel Zegler has landed one of the other lead roles, that of Lucy Gray Baird.

The film is set for release on November 17th 2023, with Michael Lesslie adapting the latest draft of the screenplay.

More on the movie as we hear it.
