Director Neil Marshall is promising to go back to the style of Dog Soldiers and The Descent for the upcoming The Lair.

With his latest film The Reckoning now on its way around the world, director Neil Marshall is now lining up another action horror movie.

The director of Dog Soldiers and The Descent is lining up to shoot The Lair, based on a screenplay he’s written. The plan will be to shoot the film this coming spring, and presumably then that points to a release in 2021.

It’s about an RAF pilot who’s downed, and manages to escape from a bunker full of biological mutant weapons in Afghanistan – only to bring something with him when he returns back to an American army base.

Marshall has declared that this is “my true return to full-blooded horror and intense genre action in the style of Dog Soldiers, The Descent and Doomsday”.

Sales for the movie are being handled by the Highland Film Group, and casting is underway on The Lair too. When we hear more we’ll let you know.

If you want to find out what Marshall has been up to more recently too, then we interviewed him just the other week here.
