A new documentary that tells the story of the last Blockbuster Video store, and salutes the rental era.

Here’s one that might just appeal to movie nerds (well, such as us). A new documentary feature has been made about the last remaining Blockbuster Video store in the world, that’s still operating in America. It’s found in the Oregon area of the country, and it’s now the subject of a film called The Last Blockbuster.

A trailer for the movie has been released, as well as an official synopsis. And it promises to be a film that salutes the era of the VHS rental.

Here’s the trailer…

Here, meanwhile, is the synopsis for the film…

The Last Blockbuster is a fun, nostalgic look back at the era of video rentals and the story of how one small town video store managed to outlast a corporate giant. The film follows the manager of the world’s last remaining Blockbuster video (located in Bend, OR), Sandi Harding, as she navigates the difficult task of keeping a video rental store open in the era of Netflix.

When we hear of a UK release, we’ll let you know. Looks to be a film worth checking out…
