The new Matrix film lands in May 2021.
The schedules of Keanu Reeves’ upcoming, er, ‘fourquels’ were already leading many to suspect that a clash was on the cards. Furthermore, the expectation that one of them would be delayed. Now, with the release date of The Matrix 4 confirmed by Warner Bros, it looks like it’s John Wick 4 that’s set to move.
Warner Bros has announced that The Matrix 4 will be in cinemas on May 21st 2021. That’s also the announced release date by Lionsgate for John Wick 4, and the expectation here is that The Matrix is going first. It’s hard to believe that Warner Bros would have announced the exact same date if it wasn’t that the next John Wick film was being pushed down the queue.
Lana Wachowski is directing the new The Matrix movie, and production is expected to begin next year.
