The animated film The Mitchells Vs The Machines is coming to DVD and Blu-ray, with a whole host of extra features too.

Here’s a very, very welcome surprise. Thus far, it’s hard to think of too many better mainstream animated films in 2021 than The Mitchells Vs The Machines, a movie directed by Mike Rianda and overseen by the mighty Phil Lord and Chris Miller.

It’s been a Sony Pictures Animation project, but it in the end decided not to release the film in cinemas and sold The Mitchells Vs The Machines to Netflix instead (it did the same thing with Vivo instead).

However, the reputation of the movie has soared since, and in the US over the last few weeks it’s snuck into a few cinemas. And now, out of nowhere, we get the news that it’s getting a physical media release in the UK as well.

The film will be available to buy on DVD and Blu-ray – no 4K disc, sadly – from December 14th, and it comes with extra features as well.

On the DVD and Blu-ray you get…
