Alicia Vikander is returning for Tomb Raider 2, which is set to film in the UK.

Heading into production soon is the brand new Tomb Raider movie, that’ll see Alicia Vikander play the role of Lara Croft for the second time on the big screen.

Already in terms of personnel behind the camera, this new film is going to have something of a British flavour. Amy Jump, after all, is on screenwriting duties, and Ben Wheatley has signed up to direct. Laurie Rose is likely to shoot the film too.

Furthermore, it looks as if the movie is going to be filming in good part in the UK. The first film did too, basing itself at Warner Bros’ Leavesden facilities. And the second too is coming back to Britain for its filming, according to a new report. That there’ll be an expected international flavour with some of the location filming, but the studio base will be in the UK.

That’s expected to be Leavesden once more, and filming is set to begin on Lara’s new adventure early next year. The movie is due in 2021.
