The People Just Do Nothing movie set for August 2021

The TV hit People Just Do Nothing will be heading to the big screen for its first movie – but not now until August 2021.

Shot in early 2020, the original plan for the movie of the hit TV series People Just Do Nothing was to have it in cinemas last August. Then, the movie delayed to February 2021. Now, the film will arrive nearly a year after it was first set for release.

Universal has set an August 13th 2021 date for the film, and is still planning to give it a cinema release. The movie shot in the UK and Japan before things got locked down. Allan Mustafa, Hugo Chegwin, Asim Chaudhry, Steve Stamp, Dan Sylvester and Lily Brazier all star in the feature.

In terms of plot – and we’re still some way away from a trailer – here’s the official synopsis that was released when the project was announced…

Since the end of their pirate radio station, life has been quiet for the Kurupt FM boys, but everything is about to change. News reaches them that one of their songs has been used on a popular game show in Japan. They’ve made it! Their music is reaching hundreds of thousands of people! It’s finally time for them to enjoy the fame and fortune that they’ve always known they deserved. Chabuddy G steps excitedly back into his management role as Grindah, Beats, Steves and Decoy begin their journey to international stardom… But is Japan really ready for Kurupt FM?
