The Tomorrow War 2 is happening

Amazon wants another The Tomorrow War movie, with Chris Pratt and director Chris McKay both likely to return.

Last weekend, instead of heading to cinemas, the $200m blockbuster The Tomorrow War landed on Amazon’s Prime Video service. It’d cost the firm a fair amount of cash to buy the completed film off Paramount Pictures, the movie starring Chris Pratt and being directed by Chris McKay.

The critical response to The Tomorrow War may have been mixed – although we had a lot of fun with it – yet the ratings clearly hit the mark. Whilst Amazon doesn’t share viewership figures, the film has apparently done numbers on the rather large side. So much so that a sequel has sprung into action.

The follow-up will see Chris McKay back as director, it’s expected, along with screenwriter Zach Dean back on scribbling duties. Chris Pratt and the members of the cast who, er, survived the first film are likely to find offers winging their way as well.

No word on when to expect the movie, just that it’s happening. We’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
