Robert Zemeckis’ film of The Witches missed out on a cinema release, but will be heading to disc in time for Christmas it’s been confirmed.

After having its cinema release cancelled in favour of a premium video on demand debut back in October, Warner Bros has now announced that Robert Zemeckis’ new take on Roald Dahl’s The Witches will be arriving on disc this month.

The Witches stars Anne Hathaway, Octavia Spencer and Stanley Tucci, and the film will be available on standard priced on demand from December 11th, with a DVD and Blu-ray release on December 14th.

Those who opt for the disc version of the film will also get some extra features for their money. The DVD comes with some deleted scenes, whilst the Blu-ray adds a gag reel, and a trio of featurettes (the making of, the story behind Roald Dahl’s The Witches and ‘magic mouse maker-potion’)

You can get more information on the disc, and pre-order a copy, right here. Just in time for Christmas…
