Julian Fellowes, WETA and Skywalker Sound are set to team up on a new Wind In The Willows film.

The latest project to slip onto the slate of Julian Fellowes is a fresh telling of the Wind In The Willows story. Based on the classic book by Kenneth Grahame, the new film is set to see Fellowes likely penning the script for the film (possibly using the framework he developed for a musical based on it a few years ago). Then, filming will involve Peter Jackson’s WETA Studios in New Zealand, which is where the production will be based.

On top of that, Skywalker Sounds in the US will be covering the sound.

There’s no casting announced yet, but the main characters will be created digitally, and thus it’s voices that are required. Furthermore, it’s unclear on timings at the moment. It’s little secret that Fellowes’ slate is rather full, and he’s not set to find time to write Downton Abbey 2 until the end of the year.

We’ll keep you posted as we hear more on this one…
