Three new Blu-ray releases join the Criterion Collection in the UK this December, including Menace II Society.

The UK arm of The Criterion Collection has announced its final three titles of the year. If you’re unfamiliar with Criterion, it’s a carefully curated collection of primarily Blu-rays, often with extensive extra features.

They’ve not paid us to say that.

The three new releases for December? Well, things kick off on December 6th with Le Samourai, starring Alain Delon. Directed by Jean-Pierre Melville, the 1967 French film comes with a bunch of interviews, both new and archival, as well as a documentary on the director and actor, and an essay too. You can order the release here.

The same day with get Albert and Allen Hughes’ Menace II Society, starring Tyrin Turner and Samuel L Jackson. The 1993 movie comes with the co-operation of the directors, although we don’t as of yet have the list of extra features. You can find the movie here. Note that in the US, this one’s getting a 4K release too, but it’s standard Blu-ray in the UK.

Finally, on December 20th comes Regina King’s movie of One Night In Miami, adapted by Kemp Powers from his own play. This one sees Eli Goree, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Leslie Odom Jr and Aldis Hodge in the cast. There’s a making of feature, a look at the sound design, new interviews and a conversation between King and Barry Jenkins. All wrapped up with an essay included in the packaging too. That’s available here.

All are available to order now.
