Scarface and a pair of musicals are joining the line-up for the HMV Premium Collection in February – details here.

We’re big fans of HMV’s excellent Premium Collection of Blu-ray releases, and we’re pleased to see that three new titles will be joining the range in February.

First up will be Scarface, the original 1930s version of the story that was subsequently remade by Brian De Palma in the 1980s. This original starred Paul Muni as Tony Camonte, and was directed of course by Howard Hawks. The HMV release will come with the original version of the movie and the censored cut that was originally shown in cinemas. It’s released on February 22nd.

Two weeks earlier, on February 8th, we get the musical Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, starring Jane Powell and Howard Keel. This two disc set is packed with extras and also features what’s described as a ‘rarely-screened alternate widescreen version’ of the film.

Finally, also on February 8th, another musical. This time it’s Gypsy, starring Natalie Wood and based on the Broadway musical. Looks like a single disc set, with a small collection of supplements.

All three releases come with a collection of artcards as well, and they’re currently listed in the firm’s 2 for £25 offer as well.

More as we hear it.
