Tiffany Haddish will both produce and star in the adaptation of the Dark Horse comic book Mystery Girl, with McG directing.

Whilst not as renowned as its high-profile rivals, Dark Horse comics has pushed plenty of wonderful comic book titles into the world throughout the years, and as such, its first-look deal with streaming giant Netflix looks set to yield further fruit following Umbrella Academy and Polar. Tiffany Haddish, star of Like A Boss and Night School, has signed on to star and produce in Mystery Girl, a female-led mystery with supernatural elements.

The film’s synopsis, reads as follows:

In Mystery Girl, Haddish will star as Trine who, living off the grid in Los Angeles as a street psychic, has no memory of who she is or where she came from but is guided by an omniscient VOICE in her head that knows everyone’s business and everyone’s darkest secrets. When a down on his luck LAPD officer, Cooper, seeks out Trine in hopes that she’ll help him crack a case, the two are framed for murder and must work together to clear their names and solve the ultimate mystery: the one behind Mystery Girl herself.

McG will be directing the film, which as of yet has no set release window. Haddish continues to develop her relationship with Netflix and will net be seen in Bad Trip, also airing on the streaming platform.
